Account-Wide HOM
I did some searching, couldn't find the thread/posts concerning the switch in the HOM to account-wide, so I figured I'd refresh the discussion.
When is this going to happen, because honestly it sounds like a load of crap shoveled onto our plates to keep us interested. What's the official word on this change and do we have a loose timeframe of when to expect this? Because as I remember it, it was supposed to be part of November's updates.

Could be a while since the GW dev team was reassigned to GW2. It also now seems that most of the GW2 team is working on GW3, so GW2 will be out as soon as the remaining 2 developers on the team can code it!
Seriously, who knows / never / this month.

GW2's team was assigned before this change was announced. The best answer I can likely expect other than an actual time frame is that there are difficulties displaying armors that have no matches on the character for which the HOM is being displayed. If that's the case, then might I suggest displaying armors with the character's model and name that the armor is made for? That would require loading models of multiple characters on an account which might pose an issue but I don't know the details of the coding process.
I'd really like to see this change occur before I start customizing my non-main characters' torm/destroyer weapons.

This was as of September 25 of last year. The source is here: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Arena...l_of_Monuments
And why do you say it's a load of crap? Honestly, whatever cuts down on the work I do to make a better HoM for myself, I will think as a freaking blessing, especially since my main doesn't have all the titles some of my other characters have (considering some of those I have no desire to do again!!). I don't see how this update will be "bad" in any way. :/

If I remember correctly, it was stated that the GW1 side of the changes were done and they are working on the GW2 side.
So it can happen anytime, my bet is the next month without an event. Meaning first/second Thursday of February. February will be the earliest it shows, won't be this month due to the Canthan New Year.
Edit: Also, the November update was never to touch on the HoM, that was player speculation. The only update so far that was meant to have a HoM change was the October update, which had the Tormented weapons included.

Its bad because its punishes duplicity, those who actually play multiple characters will have their achievements nullified instead of recognized which was originally the purpose of the HoM. Take a guy who has 10 toons and finishes all campaigns on each one earning three protector titles per toon. This guy gets the same reward as some guy with one toon who completed every campaign which is nowhere near the achievement of the first player.
To be fair there is good as well. Take a guy like myself with a pre factions main who was unable to get Legendary Survivor or LDoA because the hero predates those particular titles. Any toon I make in GW2 will gather these rewards from other characters on the account as well as the rewards from my main. So as with any change half the community benefits and half get screwed.
There has been no news on this as of late so there is nothing to really add to what is known. The only thing they didn't tell us is the date of implementation anyway. So when news does come it won't be anything new.

I always viewed it as the other way around. It reduces grind needed for those who play multiple characters. Prior to the change, people need to get all the achievements/armors/etc. multiple times. After the change, only once. The only "bad" part about it is that those who filled out the HoM on multiple characters will have less benefits. But unless they grinded like crazy to do it (and if they did so prior to the announcement, they either are robots or eBays money), there won't be any "bad" parts without them being the idiots.

Find me "yet another" thread dealing with this and I'll gladly ask for this one to be closed. I did 10 minutes of searching using various key words and found nothing dealing specifically with this issue, only people injecting this issue into other update threads.
And it was given an "official" timeframe of November 2008 when it was first announced, but that timeframe was subsequently pushed back to "we don't know."

I have noticed that every toon I enter the HoM with already has a tapestry on the titles monument. They can't all access it, but it is there. I was able to add my survivor titles to it for my survivor, even though they don't have KoaBD yet.
That is the only one I have seen yet that is account wide though.
Frankly, while they're at it, I would like them to make the EotN titles account based as well. I am NOT looking forward to grinding those titles 4-5 more times.

From what I understand, nothing except the HoM is going account based. Although ppl had been asking for wisdom/treasure hunter to go account, it was not planned.
But I don't see the reason to max eotn titles on non-main chars.
In addition, I do not think that the account-wide HoM will affect KoaBD, you will still have to max all the titles on one char to get that rank.

They'll update HoM when they give us concept art for GW2. Basically it's a timeframe of 1 month - xx months.

It may be hard for you to believe, but there are many people out there with many stacks of ectos/zkeys they got legally. Don't assume everyone who has millions of gold are bots/ebayers.

Adding a tapestry to the titles monument was never an option, and you never needed any maxed titles to add to that monument. Other than changing customized pets to be account wide nothing has been done to make it account wide. ( I mean that pets are customized to account instead of character, not the monument being account wide)

tbh if this update does happen soon it would revitalize my interest in gw, atm im dwindling and my playtime has dropped considerably, whereas if this happens i may be able to actually get my head around the title farming seeing as it would be for all my characters not just my monk.
